We left Baby R with Cindy’s parents and went down to San Diego for a little getaway! kinda.

Jake had an interview and the hotel was comped so Cindy tagged along!

We made a concerted effort to do absolutely nothing. Just quietness and laziness, something we haven’t been able to enjoy in a very long time!

There’s something about watching TV in a hotel that makes you feel especially lazy. Maybe it’s the super comfy bed and cozy sheets. We watched many many episodes of George Lopez and The Office. It brought back so many good childhood memories for both of us. We did manage to do one adventurous thing and that was jumping in the pool despite being 40ish degrees outside. It was heated, so it wasn’t that bad.

This was Cindy’s second time leaving Baby R overnight and it was muuch easier than the first time. Mostly because we really only left her for one night and we were a driveable distance away. Still, it’s always hard to leave. Maybe this is one of those things that gets easier the more we do it. Or as Baby R gets older. Or both. It does help knowing it’s a special bonding time for Baby R and her grandparents.

All in all, it was a relaxing mini getaway. We left feeling so refreshed!!!
