Jake had a long week of back-to-back interviews! He really hit the ground running with the new year. Some days, he had as many as four interviews in a row. It was both exhausting and exhilarating. He seems to really thrive in high-pressure situations.

Although it has been a stressful week for Jake, it has also been a very rewarding one. As his advisors put it, this will probably be one of the only times in Jake’s academic career when this many people will be interested in his paper and what he has to say about it. Because they’re grilling him on every little detail. No one will ever be this interested or excited about his research ever again. Unless maybe he wins the Nobel Prize. lol. It feels good to know his research is getting some attention!

We’ve already heard back from a few places and have fly-outs scheduled. It’s all happening so fast! We’re trying to enjoy the moment without thinking too much about what the future might hold. Jake especially, this is really his time to shine!
