The saga of Jake’s broken leg continues. This past week, Jake was scheduled for a deep screw removal surgery. Because this particular screw placement is prone to breaking, the surgeon recommended removing it when the time was right. Once the screw breaks, it would be difficult, if not impossible, to remove.

Well…the surgery happened, but the screw was not removed. Apparently, when the surgeon started removing the screw, the ligaments and tendons started shifting out of place. The surgeon said he rarely ever sees this happen, but ultimately had to put the screw back in and we will have to wait a few more months before we can revisit screw removal.

We were both extremely disappointed. We were looking forward to finally put this whole broken leg fiasco behind us, but it looks like we’ll have to sit on it for a few more months. Don’t even get us started on the bill for this surgery that didn’t really produce any tangible results. But at the end of the day, it is what it is.

We treated ourselves to some Jack in the Box spicy chicken sandwiches to brighten the day lol.
