Happy New Year!!

We were in Hawaii this past week on our mini-moon or honeymoon part 1. We had so much fun, we miss Hawaii already!! Our favorite day was the day we went to the North Shore. That day, we saw a sea turtle at Laniakea Beach, went cliff jumping at Waimea Bay, and went snorkeling at Sharks Cove. We capped the day off with some Hawaiian shaved ice. It was the perfect day– a nice mix of adventure and relaxation.

The most memorable part of our trip was definitely New Year’s Eve. On New Year’s Eve, we spent the day at Waikiki Beach. It was at 12:18pm that day, when Jake lost his wedding ring to the ocean.  Losing a wedding ring seems like something that would ruin a trip, but it didn’t. All it did was give us a good laugh and a good story to tell.

Other things we did included:

• snorkeling at Electric Beach (which was quite challenging because we had to swim out to the middle of the ocean…okay not the middle of the ocean… but pretty far),
• hiking along the Ka’ena Point Trail to the Albatross Sanctuary (where we got to see some albatross birds and their nests)
• more snorkeling at Hanauma Bay (which was nice and easy)
